                                             Case Analysis

 18. Read the case situation given below and answer the questions that follow      [20]

Nisha happened to be driving into the parking area of the Bhatbhateni market as another person was parking the car. She had a brief look to the woman who seemed to be carrying handgun. When the security man arrived at scene, Nisha couldn't say much about gunwoman's appearance; nevertheless, they took her to headquarter and showed her hundreds of mug book of photographs. She was repeatedly shown a photo of woman named Paru for many hours but she was unable to identify any one. The investigators handed her Paru's photo and said "we knew this woman visited the Bhatbhteni market the day of the crime. Did you see her running in the parking area?"When Nisha said she was not sure/ she was allowed to leave and asked to think more carefully about what she had seen that day. After few weeks later, Nisha was asked to pick the aggressor from a Darbarmarg high way up that included Paru Although she remembered feeling uncertain of the identity of the woman when she was first questioned, Nisha was surprised at how easily and confidently she picked Paru from the Durbarmarg highway up now.

a) Why couldn't Nisha identify the gun woman right after she witnessed the crime?
